  3. Hold up! Her feet should be close together with head and neck in a straight line instead of her neck craning up. Planking "for as long as you can" is bad advice for anyone especially beginners. Start with 30 seconds. If that's too tough, start with 20 or even 10 seconds. Also, why not start with knees bent on the floor with torso straight? That modified position is WAY more effective for beginners.

    The only thing I would add would be 'micro-bends' when doing a standing plank or modified standing plank to save the elbow joints.
